Virginia Muslim Political Action Committee (VMPAC) is the most recent development of political empowerment for the Muslim community in Virginia.

The movement of educating, empowering and engaging the Muslim community in direct politics, and mobilizing Muslim votes for candidates who are willing to protect rights and liberties of our community members and uphold the community’s greater interest began following the difficult days after the 911 terrorist attack.  The raids on Muslim homes and businesses in Herndon in March of 2002 made it apparent that we must organize and directly participate in the political process, if we are to have the appropriate attention of lawmaker.  VMPAC is the culmination of that movement.

Over the past years, VMPAC has made considerable strides in achieving its goals.  We have established ourselves as a major political force for social justice and positive change for all people in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

But our work has just begun…
